Without arguing over the semantics of 'career', there's a big difference between being a real academic who conducts and publishes research as well as teaching, and teaching conversational English at a uni (equivalent to coaching the university swimming team). I have no illusions about which group I'm in.  |

It seems to be thrifty's point -- by constantly bemoaning the fact that he doesn't have a career and will never have one. And he spares no efforts in trying to tell all other English teachers that they don't have careers either.

that is a good one. I really don't career about a career. I just want to educate myself about as much of the world as possible. Despite my comments about moving to South America, I may first take up a M.A. in Korean Studies. |
