Lose the all-caps key. And please give some specifics about the type of city and culture you want to live in. What do you enjoy doing? What are you looking for? Why either Peru or Argentina? Why only Lima and B.A.? What do Peru and Argentina have to do with Okinawa???

basically i hear peru and argentina are the cheapest places in s. america to live, while the pay is slim.
i want to go to chile, but i hear it is the same as living in the states and not making any money to save.
i love doing anything, just being outside of america, anywhere is fine by me.

what is so wrong with putting everything in all-caps on this site? i have got scolded by two different people just because of this. is it really a big deal?

i just want some feedback from some positive people who can tell me a little about the continent, thats all

In online writing, all-caps is the equivalent of shouting.

If you're put off of Chile because it's more developed (that's how I interpreted your comparison to the US), then maybe Peru would be a better match for you than Argentina. I was only there for a holiday and have never lived there, but Buenos Aires is very European. (I absolutely loved it!!!)

You're not likely to save money anywhere down here, sadly. You should make enough to live comfortably, though, and do some traveling--but no five-star hotels, obviously!

I agree with Henry about the capitals. They hurt my eyes! Sad

You may also want to consider Ecuador if cost of living is a major concern. Very cheap and two beautiful mountain cities with plentiful employment, Quito and Cuenca. Also we have a poster willing to give info on Manta.
