Calling all ELT geeks! (For my DELTA Extended Assignment)
Before going through my testing procedures and rationales, I'm putting in a bit of blurb and referencing to make myself look clever about assessment.
I have defined 'objective' assessment, such as multiple choice/true or false questions in relation to 'subjective', which is more like open questions where there is not a right or wrong answer per se.
It seems that when testing reading/listening (i.e. the 'Receptive' skills) the questions are inherently more objective - while assessing speaking/writing ('productive', I suppose) the questions tend to be more subjective.
Is this a fair analysis? If it is then why is this? And am I barking up the wrong tree anyway? Thanks... |
