The company's name is John Dewey International Education Consultants. The recruiter's name is Bryan.

I have used them twice. They're on the up-and-up, but the same cannot be said for some of the schools that use them. That said, you will also find dishonest schools without using a recruiter.

My advice: Do nothing until you're in Taiwan. By all means use Dewey, but don't be pressured into taking something just because they offer it. Continue to search for employment on your own, too.

Does Dewey actually interview teachers or do they just let you choose what job you want?

They take your resume and pass it on to schools you are interested in. It is up to the schools to interview and decide whether they want to hire you and therefore you sign a contract with the school. The schools pay Dewey a finder's fee, you pay nothing. I (and a few friends) have dealt with a guy called Andrew Liu in the Northern Taichung area. He has always been professional and helpful.

NO! They're two different people. Andrew Lin works for himself and is an absolute SCUMBAG (my personal experience). Avoid him like the plague.

I found my current position in Cin Shuei (Taichung county) through Andrew Liu, and like I_is_teach_English, found him to be professional and helpful.
