A lady friend of mine whom I may have a serious relationship with liked my idea of teaching overseas together. I am Italian and Spanish but for all practical purposes most people have considered me white. No not a blue eye blond hair white but Caucasion just the same.
On the other hand she is very ethnic looking. Her complexion is mahogony brown, her hair is worn in braids/afro/dreds.
She would like to know if she would be discriminated agianst for being black in any othe ASIAN COUNTRIES?
We both know that Korea and Japan has a subculture of J-POP and K-pop, Jazz, Soul and Reggea that is popular regarding music, arts and fashion with the younger crowed.
Think she would have any problems or fit in pretty well?
Any advice would be appreciated. |

I am in Japan and from all I have seen she would have no trouble here. She would however have some trouble in China and Thailand. I can't speak for any other Asian countries.
It is nice that you two are going on your adventure together. I taught with a friend in China and Thailand and it was great! There is always someone there that has your back and understands. Have a great time! |
