I think it's a good idea to take a poll on how much people make in the UAE for the benefit of those who are interested in going.

Probably a good idea to mention the country you migrated from and your educational background.

I'm not sure what benefit this poll would be. Are you talking about teachers? what level? primary or secondary? university? language schools? EFL? Academic courses?

education? experience?

If a few dozen people answer the poll and even if they put their information down here, how do you know how their pay matches their other criteria.

I have to agree with VS this 'survey' would not provide enough information to anyone thinking of coming here. Outside of salary what about the benefits that may or may not make an offer of a job here attractive or not. Things such as accomodation allowance, schools fees for kids, medical coverage, teaching load, holidays etc . The actual monthly salary does not provide enough information.

Without wishing to sound too patronizing - which I am sure is highly likely - I would just like to say that I think this "poll" question needs to take a long and serious look at itself back on the drawing board...(clears throat).....Omar.

I think this would be useful... anyone considering it seriously would further investigate the overheads based on their own circumstances re cost of living v salary... but a ballpark figure would be helpful.. for example hopefully the poll would come out with a median.. then you could look at the posts to get an idea of the backgrounds/volumes of those voting and pitch yourself against the median?.... just a thought?

I note only four people answered the poll.. not a meaningful sample methinks :0) maybe would work if posters posted their quals/current role in their footer (hmmm.. is that likely to happen :0) ?!?)

That fits perfectly... a meaningless sample for a meaningless poll...
