Paedophiles seek jobs that allow them access to children. The Soham murder case in the UK was a particularly sad example.
Given the rapid growth of English language teaching to children, it's not surprising that paedophiles are to be found working as EFL teachers. |

Here is a usual call to inaction...

The recent arrest in Thailand of John Mark Karr over the killing of American child beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey has caused the Thai authorities to question the vetting procedures used to recruit foreign teaching staff.
Just days before his arrest, Karr - a wanted man in the US who was once held on suspicion of possessing child pornography - successfully applied for a job in a Bangkok school, and had previously worked in two other schools in the city.
In fact he seems to have spent the past 10 years as a globe-trotting teacher who, according to his resume, taught in South Korea, Europe and Latin America.
"This case shows that we may need to tighten the rules on screening teachers," said Jakrapob Penkair, a Thai government spokesman overseeing educational affairs. |
The usual hot air that will lead to...nowhere. |

1) Do you think John Mark Karr was a poster on this board?
2) Are the feds probing this board for evidence? |
