Other then taking the train to Hualien, are there buses that go to Taroko from Taichung through the island highway?
I'm between Taichung and Chiayi so I'm wondering how I can go see Taroko on a weekend since I heard its really nice there. |

Rent a motorcycle. It is the best way to see the gorge. All you need is a passport and an international drivers licence. You can rent one at the train station or at many places in town. For a little more you can rent a car.
Have fun and bring a wide angle lens.
