I start work with Aeon in Osaka on September 8th, I have a week of training, then I will be working and living in Osaka, specifically at tennoji station, and hence living nearby, I believe. I am a 24 year old male from Canada, I just graduated with my degree in philosophy and English. I enjoy snowboarding, sight-seeing, rock climbing, canoeing, camping, video games, going clubbing, or to pubs, live music, i'm basically an easy going fun loving person.
I do know a number of people in Japan, but not very many who live in Osaka. So if you are fun loving easy going and overall nice person, send me an email at [email protected] <---daytona was my camp name, I am not overly interested in stock car racing

Hey, Chris
Congrats on the job, and I hope all runs smoothly. From your posts I can see that you are well-intentioned and will make a caring teacher. Ah, It makes me long for the carefree, starry-eyed days when I first started teaching in Asia... Now that the stars have faded a little and I have, sadly, grown a bit more callous, I do feel it is my sisterly responsibility to suggest that you invite other forum users to send you a Private Message/ PM on this site, rather than post your email address publicly. Not everyone is as honorable as you .
Keepin' fingers crossed for you. |

Osaka is a fantastic city, and Tennoji is a convenient area. A few years ago I lived near Tennoji... about a 20-minute walk away (at Tani-9). There are good points and bad points to the area. If you like nightlife, there are lots of bars and restaurants in Tennoji, but it's not really a clubbing place. For that, you have to go north to Namba. It's not far... only a few train stations away. On the downside, Tennoji is dirty and noisy. You'll basically be living in the heart of the city. If you can choose a place to live, it would probably be better to live within walking distance of Tennoji, but not in Tennoji. There are a lot of homeless there and I'd be a bit wary of walking around at night. But don't get me wrong. Downtown Osaka is fantastic... one of my favourite places in Japan. |
