I must be working in a different Berlitz...... O.K the old man can be a bit over the top and in your face.. but he's not that bad.. Confused

Then again I live nearby and work part time. I have my pick of students and only do E.S.P work ie tax, sales, marketing and import export work.

I guss he must be different around group teachers.

Then again it's alot better than E.T, but that's not saying much.......

Why did he fail. I remember TG saying that he knew of cases where DELTA victims did lessons using ''methods'' like community language learning etc. and that if they could plan, execute and justify why and what they did, then there would be no problem.

I did an embarassing pron lesson where the students had to walk through a ladder drawn on the classroom floor whilst practicing the ''th'' sound. I had got it from a pron games book and used Sound Foundations for the theory part. TG seemed to enjoy it but then he is into drama.

I agree with thrifty on this one. The secret to a DELTA ob is in the aims and rationale. If these are executed then it is a pass. It does not matter about the methodology behind them, no matter how questionable.

If I ever do my delta I'll do mine on Betty Azar and grammar substitution. I've got a friend who's teaching herself from Betty Azar and she's coming on very well.

Even more worrying ... you're talking about your job ... isn't there a discussion forum elsewhere for teachers to do that ...

I've met people who've learnt English well from Porn films.

They have a few fosilised errors in their short answers though.

"Do you like Istanbul?"
"Ooooh yes, I like it hard"
