just trying to gain some insight on the new york school of english in la pietra. they offer 4200 pesos per month, but pay for all of your housing and utilities, supply linens and pick you up upon arrival. just wondering: if they are legit, how is this salary comparitively (and, more importantly, is this liveable) and does anyone know about the safety of La Pietra?
cheers... |

They advertise once or twice a year, I've always thought that'd be a great job for someone with little or no experience. Is that you?
La Prieta is no more or less dangerous than most of Mexico. It is not too exciting a place to visit, but not far from many interesting places. I dout you'll save money on that wage, but it will cover your food and some sight seeing expenses. If you have no debt or other finacial obligations it would be fine, again, for a new teacher. If you have higher creditials and/or lots of experience you can do a lot better. |

I recall from reading here that the New York School of English is located in La Piedad, Michoacan. |

I think they have two locations. But I'm not sure, I'm just going from stuff I hear on the Michoacan public radio station when I was in Morelia (Jan-July 2005) and listening to the radio, a lot. |

I wrote many positive things about the newyork school before.... go back and check em out. Nothing but good things to say about the school and owners.
I used to work for Culturlingua Zamora (by the way, don't work for Culturlingua - they hire too many teachers, and find excuses to let them go soon after.....
That is a problem school...very dishonest.
