Johnslat and Scot47/Angus aside,both of whom are clearly in the twighlight of their tefl years,it would be interesting to know who's been around the efl block on this forum.Some of the posters are so full of ideals that I doubt they've ever spent more than a year abroad...if that.I've got 10 years in numerous places and have taught just about everything from yl beginner to the english of army ordinance.....how about the rest of you?Just interested that's all............

7 years coming up. 1 in UK and 6 in Japan.
Taught business, and general English to ages 4 to OAPs.
Examiner for Cambridge Young Learner's Tests to boot.

Taught ages from 2-70.
Still feel I have a lot to learn.

Teaching OAPs ....I guess running dictations were out then?

Over 5 years in efl in Japan and several years in Canada as a school teacher. I like teaching here much better.

Dear biffinbridge,
Twilight years, hell - it's High Noon for me, pardner ( and SMILE when you say that, stranger ). OK - I suppose my wandering days MAY be over, but one never knows what's down the road. Though I'll admit I love it back here in Santa Fe, I still can feel the lure of far away places with strange sounding names. ( like, say, Walla Walla, WA ). After a year or so here I just might find a geezer-friendly locale, pack my bags and hit the road again. Even if I don't, I'll almost surely be in teaching till I drop, just because I enjoy it so much ( it sure ain't for the money ). Oh - and although I'm an old-timer, I've still got plenty of ideals left. Anybody who wants to try and take them away will have to pry them from my cold, dead hands ( apologies to the NRA ).
