I've heard that you can't take the books home, so they want you to come early to prepare classes, I've also heard it's best to stay away from them.

The pay is low. Try Business Links. Last time I heard (1.5 yrs ago) they paid $10 an hour. Alex Elul is the director, nice fella though I havent worked there.

Thanks everyone for the advice. It's nice to know these kind of things. Any other schools I should stay away from? How about Colegio Santa Margarita? Maybe it's best to walk around the city once I arrive?

There are many schools along avendida arequipa, between miraflores and lima centro (near headway) I handed in my resume and received a few job offers but the pay was only $4-5 an hour. You can try the universities for higher pay, but if I go back to Lima I would go to business links. Lima isnt the most attractive city, grey skies most of the year, but good nightlife and restaurants. I didnt find much in the way of long term accomodation and a long term stay at the hostels is expensive. Or come to Quito, nicer city and quite easy to get work,

Thanks Mattaro. I'm not too worried about a place to stay as I will be staying with someone I know. Is Business Links a Business English Language school?

Yes it is a business english school, so normally you need to travel to the businesses to teach mornings, days or afternoons. http://businesslinks.com.pe
