Hello All,

I am a 28 year old Australian who is planning to come to Taiwan early next year to begin a career as an EFL teacher. This year (if I start actually completing assignments) I will graduate from a four year undergraduate course as a Secondary teacher. My teaching methods studied are English Literature and English as a Second Language. I have limited experience teaching at schools here - 80 days over the duration of the course.

I have perused lots of the messages on these boards so understand that jobs aren't too hard to come by and that recruiters could be used also. I am just looking for ideas about turing up in Taiwan possibly Taichung and looking for work. Would I have better chance at decent jobs because I am a teaching graduate or would that not make much difference. Australia also has a recipricol holiday visa arrangement with Taiwan. Would I be better off getting that visa or getting another working visa?

Thanks for any advice, I look forward to joining the ranks of EFL teachers soon and living the high income, carefree playboy lifestyle! ha ha
Cheers.
Tito.

Taichung is a nice place. There is an abundance of schools in and around the city.

Are you a thin, under 30, white, blue eyed, blonde female? That's all that matters.
