Apologies if the answer is somewhere obvious, but I did do a search and nothing came up.

Are there any countries in which it is easier to find teaching contracts for less than 12 months.

I see that the standard contract is for 12 months, but I am hoping to teach for 6-9 months in between a bit of travelling.

Would like to teach somewhere in SE Asia but was wondering if there were any countries which offer short term contracts?

You could probably even get a 3 month contract in China. There are also summer camps in Korea and Taiwan.

We've found quite a few schools in Hanoi (more than we expected, at least) that offer six-month contracts. You'll also find many schools won't make a part-timer sign a contract at all, so you're free to work as many or as few months as you'd like.

Help us out here. What are your qualifications?

Westgate Corporation in Japan sponsors work visas and offers a three month contract, but I don't know if you are qualified.
