Hello

I owe all of you a thank you. With your help I am now in china teaching. I now have a new question. I am interested in Tutoring for some extra cash. The city that I live in has no (international center like in Japan) so I am unsure of how I can find students. I teach in a privet school so my students are out of the question. Any suggestions on how I can find students. Also any idea on what I should charge. I live in a city of 10 Million but the regain is very relaxed.

Thank you,

Is there an English corner? Volunteer some time at a public English corner. Cozy up to the coordinator and explain your situation. Maybe he or she will throw some leads your way. That's how I did it.

well, i dont know how exactly to find the students.....i have had my private lessons offered to me by parents of students.

as far as rates go:
up north, where there were maybe 5 FT in the entire town/city, i was able to get 150 rmb/hour.

now, in hangzhou, i am getting only 100/hour. i could have pushed for at least 120, but i was too tired. Confused

i'd say ask for at least 150, and see their response. definately no less than 100!

good luck.
