Hi, i read all the above posts just before coming to Poland on 3/9 with my boyfriend to work for millenium. Needless to say i was pretty worried, but decided to push ahead anyway.
I've only been here three and a bit weeks, but for anyone who's in the position i was (ie hearing bad stuff but being very comitted to coming) I think it's important that i report my experience so far.
In a nutshell, i've been pretty damn impressed with millenium and Arek the owner. Everything we were promised before we came has happened, we were met, trained, employed and housed. Arek himself has been very helpful, we originally decided to live in a rented room but when we changed our mind and wanted our own flat a week later he came to from Krakow out to Kielce to sort us out. He's constantly making sure that we're happy and have no problems and we've always been able to contact him by phone straight away when we needed.
By UK standards yes, things can seem a little disorganised, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are. I can see how it would be frustrating but for myself, one who hasn't travelled or taught before, whose main aims have been to a) get teaching experience and b) experience life in Poland, it's all been good as we've had all the help we needed getting set up with jobs, bank accounts, accomodation etc
I don't want to argue with the experiences of the other contributers to this post, it sounds like it was a very rough time. But i do feel a responsibility to post my experience so far in order to add a little balance. If you are about to leave to work for millenium (and i know there's a few peeps coming this weekend) the best advice i can give is to stay nice and chilled, go with the flow and stay positive! |

I expressed no doubts over the experiences of other contributers, I don't think it's too much to expect the same in return. |

Don't feel offended, but his particular organization hasn't received a lot of good press. Do report after the honeymoon is over. |

blah blah. I know Arek and have dealt with him in the past. I would stay away. It is a great introduction to Poland, however, because that is the way people work there. |

Yeah Cheeseandegg is based in Ostrw so I can guess who you might be. As far as I know there are only two people from the Isle of Man teaching in Poland.
Arek has a bad reputation but many of the stories about him are several years old and don't forget it is possible for people to change.

there was a fellow from the Isle of Man who worked in Warsaw and may have moved to Kielce. Do you know him? |

I don't know anyone from the Isle of Man, but there are about fifty English schools in Kielce (i'm told) so who knows! I haven't met anyone english outside of my school though |

That may be because you consider us as 'English'. |
