library.... worth joining? Do i need anything to join other than cash e.g residence permit (don't have).. does it have decent enough selection of books so that I don't need to ship from home? Is it just reference TEFLy stuff or does it have fiction/interest titles as well? Going to be out there in a few weeks and envisage serious excess baggage problem?

Do you know something we don't? There is no council in Istanbul.(Although I've heard rumours about it re-opening somewhere in Maslak) The old books from the council went to Bilgi-I think it was Molly who informed us of this. A friend of mine will be working p/t at the B-side and said they have alot of materials. Did Sally et al manage to salvage a load of books from the council? Anyone in the know?

At least it will help the Bilgi students keep their Ferraris on the road.
I heard a rumour that there is an F60 around.
There were only 399 of them built(yes, this was on top gear this week) So,is it really true that a student at Bilgi has an F60?

Similarly the Izmir branch of the BC was moved to the University of Economics following the bombs in 2003. The library moved, minus all the overdue books - who would make a special trip to the periphery of Izmir in order to pay a fine?

The private universities seem to be doing well by this.
