Has anyone ever thought about getting it set up in their homes? I know the initial lay out is around 500ytl or so, but it is cheaper in the long run as Digiturk costs around 70ytl a month. I've met lots of people who have talked about doing it, but l don't know anyone who has.

I met a person who had such a setup and there is one added cost you might think about. Apparently, to watch some of the "good" channels you have to pay a small monthly fee. (Paid individually for each channel.)
The broadcasters periodically scramble the channel. Having said that, he was able to watch 500 channels and most of them were free.

I personally dont think the number of channels means much when you include.. "The Home shopping Network" coming live from Siberia or "Islam Today" or still worse "The Gospel Channel" direct from Mayberry, North Carolina. ( Home of the True faith!)

suppose you're right. I only watch about 10 channels at the most on digi. Going back to Topgear xtra, which happens to be one of my favourite shows, too, the hamster (Hammond) is in hospital with brain damage after he crashed trying to beat the British land speed record.

Entrailicus, you haven't being paying attention. I put a link to top gear on the men's thread some time before.
Can't remember which page though. Start at page one and work your way through. Shouldn't take you too long.

Btw I don't appreciate the comments about about Scottish football Crying or Very sad At least wait until after the France game at the weekend and (the) Ukraine next week.

Ollie, there is a place in Istanbul(besiktas- sinan blah blah merkezi) where you can hire whole series of tv shows for a while, take them back and exchange them for the follow up series for the costly sum of 5 ytl. Can you do do that in Izmir. Share your knowledge with Izmir newbies.

It certainly wasn't me ... but was my former neighbour ... who had a habit of making such amusing blunders ... it didn't stop me from copying the book though ...

Does your place close down for Ramadan thrifty ...

I'm still intrigued about who wanted to do the photocopying. Does his name begin with P?

No, good heavens ... it's not our mutual friend, P, ... though he was at the same workshop ... the guy in question worked at EF, before Bilgi, before my old place ...

Hi D.M.B

Izmirians are more than a little reticent about sharing or giving anything in my experience .To the best of my knowledge F.G.T. is a notable exception a warm caring person, but I think not a digiturk subscriber, never mind, one will have to do what one always does, which is travel to Istanbul or another place of civilization and get some necessary stuff .Anything I have learnt or acquired has been a result of my own efforts and endevours .
