All throughout Asia we nearly always buy less than legal copies of DVDs. Even worse is that with a quick look one can easily tell they aren't real.

Anyone ever take a stack of said DVDs or CDs through US customs? Did they want to take closer looks at it? Did you take just a few, or a case full?

Don't know about the USA but I used to take 10 or 15 videos into Australia every year after travelling around Asia. One year I asked the Customs Officer about it as he read the titles and ignored them. He told that as long as there was one copy of each, it wasn't a problem (Everybody does it), but if there were more copies with the same title, I would have been busted.

Good luck.

Recently came back from China into Newark, NJ with about 200 dvds and 50 PS2 games.

Not an issue. Once got pulled into secondary inspection at the same airport put they didn't open my things.

I think you might only have a hassle if they look into your bags.

The chances of that are slim as they seem to pull only 1 out of 100 or 200 people walking by.

I think the key is to take them out of their packages. how can they prove where you bought them if they're in a book? came home with 500 last year. good luck.
