What can you tell me, besides search the web?
My husband & I are US citizens: no EU work. My family has been in the US too long, but my husband can trace his ancestry to Spain through Puerto Rico.
Any advice?
Thank you! |

Call the Spanish Embassy or Consulate that serves the area you live in. If he's actually eligible for any type of visa or citizenship through his ancestry, you'll have to deal with them anyway. My understanding (and this is without any research, just what I'm remembering) is that if the Spanish citizenship is farther back than his grandparents, he's probably out of luck. I do think that there are some special schemes, at least w/ regard to citizenship, for citizens of Spanish speaking central and South American countries but I don't know if Puerto Rico qualifies. Best to check with the embassy or consulate. |
