I'm just curious as to how many people who read these forums are actually working in Costa Rica right now. If you read this and are in CR please respond! Tell me where you are working (school, city) and when you were hired. Thanks |

So either no one wanted to participate or Im the only one who reads these forums with a job. I got hired two weeks ago at a language school called Academia Europea in San Pedro. I have three classes with a total of 24 hours a week. I get 2500 colones an hour. I'm not really sure these forums are that helpful for someone looking for information on the job market in CR. |

Maybe they're working too hard or having too much fun to come to Dave's. I hear Costa Rica can do that do ya.
Costa Rica isn't a huge country either...maybe there aren't that many people working in CR.

I can't decide whether I should be discouraged or encouraged by your comment, Guy. Surely we'll get a response from someone eventually. Right? If not, I'll just go down to Costa Rica myself and start asking around. |

think about what youre asking.............
Were not exactly legal here. Working on tourist visas and even though we submit fracturas (invoices) and therefore are supposed to pay taxes in this country....., were still not legal.
Through my other posts, most people know where i work and how long ive been here, but to just blatantly say, here i am now come and get me...... nah, sorry.
nice idea but asking people to pm you might be better, but then You could be one of Them !
cheers

You are being paid way too low for an ESL teacher. They pay more, but you have to look |

Hmmm... I hadn't considered that it'd be potentially dangerous to post in a forum like this. It's fairly anonymous, isn't it? Of course, the OP's question is rather specific. I can appreciate that you'd want to be careful with your livelihood.
So, in light of this, I'm especially grateful to all of you who are "touring" CR and are still willing to answer questions and post your experiences here. Thanks! |
