Hello everyone.
I'm keen to know, like many others, where a first time tefl teacher should aim for in Shanghai with regards to the pros and cons of private, state or international schools. I'm a UK teacher but no experience of tefl teaching and would like to be with older or adult students.
I would also like to know if applying directly to the school or university is the most effective way of securing a good job in terms of conditions, pay and contract or whether the numerous agencies who offer an induction and 'package' are a safer bet.
All comments would be most welcome to this potential fresher. |

I've been told that it's much, much more difficult to get a teaching gig in Shanghai (as opposed to one or two hours away) than in the rest of China, because it's such a desirable place to be. Anyone know if that's true?
