Don't deny it...you have one. What is it?
Mine are mostly food related. Beef tacos with Oaxaca cheese and a garlic red salsa. Or what I'm eating now...
Frozen Pinguinos

Frozen pinguinos????? What are they?
I always liked a good emu burger. Never tasted them in Oz, but the little town in Oaxaca where I lived had its own emu farm! (Its pronounced eeem-you by the way )
And a paloma, sin sal. |

Oh god, horchata!
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
I used to also drink a fair amount of agua de tamarindo, and it had absolutely nothing to do with the cute agua guy!! Had to stop though, when it started ripping out my insides.
That yoghurt drink with pasas y nueces. Double mmmmmmmmmmmmm |

Couldn't find a picture to show you...they are cream-filled chocolate cupcakes. I throw them in the freezer and eat them frozen.

Pinginos are the Mexican version of Hostess Cupcakes. However, according to the site below, there's a slight difference in nutritional value between the two.

I can't believe I just took the time to look that up.
I definitely need to get a life. |

After reading the title of this thread, I somehow expected (or perhaps hoped) it would be more risque... |

And the son, Alejandro? I think he's a pretty decent mariachi. |

I'll spice it up.
My darling husband is my favorite thing Mexican.
But moteles de pasos-----ewwww. I always get creaped out thinking of all the scanky people who have been there before me.
Others
300 days of sunshine
Aguas Frescas of all flavors
Frothy hot chocolate(in a bowl!) on a cool mountain morning
San Cristobal de las Casas
Tepoztlan, Morelos
Fernando Delgadillo
Los Tehuanies de Acatlan de Orsorio, Puebla (its a folk dance)
Laura Esquivel (I'm reading La Malinche, at the moment)
And of course... LILA DOWNS! |

Blissful pleasures, huh?
One of my cousins accuses me of living a minimalist lifestyle in Mexico. I'm not sure if that's true and/or blissful, but here are some things on my list:
~ Yucatecan food
~ siestas
~ ample sunshine all year long
~ the beach
~ Marlboro rojo cigarettes
~ Carlos Quinto chocolate bars

I should also add that I'm highly amused by getting yelled at on the streets... |
