Wot! Another Scot! dmb from where do you hail?

Another teacher at Dave's mentioned a conversation they had with a taxi driver in Latin American. The taxi driver laughed when he heard how much the teacher was getting paid. So there's on option for you. And some taxi drivers are really smart.

If TEFL disappear from the planet, I might consider teaching science or maths. If I stick at Spanish long enough I'll consider teaching that too. Also, I have 12 years experience writing software. It'd be a doddle for me to go back to that. EVEN in Scotland.

I guess I didn't give my answer. The first time it was due to deadend jobs that treated me unfairly leading to a TEFL course and the fact that most of my friends were leaving town too.

This time it is the same except my friends are still out of town. Also I think I'll like my family better from a distance. This culture seems quite boring too. No more Canadian winters for me.

Well, I've never heard it called that before, and I lived there for 5 years when I was a student. I agree that there's so much more to see. And I intend to see it. But if I were to teach in Scotland, that's where I'd be.
