Hello;
My cousin is thinking about taking the SIT course in La Fortuna. Any feedback would be appreciated. And yes I have done a search in previous posts for information as well. Thanks for your help Wink
Cheers

you can email the people who attended the course -- search "El Invu" and "La Fortuna" and many of the posters have email addresses

you can ask Ms. Mary at the school to give you names/emails of former students

cheers,

Queenie

I am actually just starting my third week of the course right now. It is in a small town called El INVU about 30min from La Fortuna. I am enjoying the class and think it is great experience for anyone interested in teaching. I am in the course with 3 already well established teachers in the ESL field as well as beginngers like myself. You start teaching the third day and the small town atmoshphere is great for getting to know the culture and learning Spanish. Everyone is very nice and helpful and I already consider it a very worthwhile experience. Let me know if you have any specific questions.

JohnMARS or billyd (or anyone else, really):

Any updates or additional thoughts now that you've completed the course? Since Instituto Britanico has changed the date for their CELTA course (and mentioned a price increase), I'm considering the SIT training instead. I've gotten the impression that SIT doesn't carry the same cachet as CELTA around the world, but I'd like to hear first-hand from those that have taken it. Was it helpful? Worth the time and money?
