posters here often fudge the issue of their true national identity - not wanting to give away their non-native English speaking status |
Danish Cookie,
black pot/black kettle calling who white? You cannot write a single post without several conspicuous typos!
That is why you are obsessed about the nationality of others; inferiority complex? I tell you: I am proud of who I am, not of where I come from.
And now, start explaining to us your unique kindergarten bilingual teaching style! You who do not speak Chinese! |

You know what???
The American Speech Hearing Language Association, TESOL and your congressman aren't going to be able to do squat.
They want a white person from a White backgroud. Some people don't understand that you can be Asian looking but from America or Canada.
Having read your other posts I don't think you should really go to China. |
Can you read? The OP sounds like he is a white american who happens to have been born in the Phillipines to parents who were on a military base. |
Yes I can read. Can you?
I said they want a white person from a WHITE BACKGROUND. ie Someone born in the States, Canada, Uk etc. If a Chinese person sees that they were born in Asia they are going to think twice about hiring this person because they have the thousands of years of thinking behind them to think that no one can be white and born in Asia. |

To the OP. With statements like these, you can expect NO sympathy here:
| Quote: |
| Chinese people are just going to laugh at them and say so what. |
Not one reply has even considered how the OP must feel, rather the self-haters and China-apologisers criticise him/her for speaking up.
OP, Chinese live in the dark ages. If it makes you feel any better, Whites arent good for anything more than teaching English and will never be really accepted in China. |

Well, with all that thinking are they still so DUMB not to realise thousands of whites have been born in Hong Kong and Singapore?
Your statement is as idiotic as the racism you inadvertedly condone. |

| I still don't see where race was even mentioned in that reply. The school is talking about nationality. They don't want a phillipino passport holder. What's so wrong with that? They want someone from a native English speaking country. The reply even said that if the person was born in the phillipines, but to American parents (which would make the person an American citizen), then that would be different. They didn't say jack about being asian or white, they asked what country the passport was from. Two different things. |

| This rex type has a knack for starting truly fascinating topics in which he never answers the questions others want him to answer. |
