Anyone know? if i book a one way ticket to Japan, am being sponsored so will have all the correct working visa stuff.... will it be a problem?
I know officially everywhere wants a return ticket but normally they dont check when you arrive - you just pass on through....

i don't have a return ticket. if you have a 1 year visa, a return ticket is useless anyway.

Most of the time when you get an airline ticket you have to get a ticket that comes back in at the maximum 6 months. So if you dont plan to come home at all, getting a one year ticket would be either impossible or VERY expensive.
We got a round trip ticket because we are going to come back in six months. and then go back again.

When I went with a sponsored visa, I got a one way ticket. In hindsight I wish I had of gotten a return ticket, as two one ways were much more expensive, especially during summer. I think as long as you arent on a working holiday visa, a one way is ok.

I had no problem with a one-way ticket. The official asked about it on arrival, and I told him I was hoping that my company would renew my contract and visa after a year. If not, I'd buy another ticket. He was fine with that.
