I went to the new shopping centre in Bornova and was really impressed. The architecture is innovative whilst being on a human scale, the range of shops is impressive (Next, River Island, Miss Selfridge etc), and it's right next door to IKEA which is a draw in itself. There's also a new (large) Tesco/Kipa and cinema complex. Ate well in an Italian restaurant (imported wine 40 ytl a bottle - thankfully, I wasn't paying!)
The only downside seems to be that it isn't accessible by public transport. My driver-friend dropped me there for my second visit because he had to go to work, I ended up getting a lift to the metro station in a police car - I wonder if they do a regular shuttle service?

Don't get the chance to dress up much these days in well made expensive gear, do you ? |
