well from what i can gather from them 2 of them are completely illegal & 1 is on a supposed students visa - they all found it pretty easy to get work here & got that job within 3 weeks of arriving or doing their TEFL course - it may be because our school is out in the suburbs, or that our boss is also American (though now married to a European) but for them it seems to have been easy enough

Hope this helps - any other questions feel free to ask or pm me

Hi,
Barcelona is one of the best places to earn a DELTA, so I would imagine if you have one already it would be widely accepted.

Apart from that I would like to say that teaching in Barca was one of the best experiences in my life. I worked in Premia de Mar, just a short train ride to the burbs.

My apartment was on the 4rth floor overlooking the Med. I would sit on my balcony and watch sail boats for hours, walk on the beach, take the train into Barca and visit the Picasso Museum, enjoy tapas, art, architecture. My school had walls made of plate glass with nothing but a view of the med.

Well you have been there and must have taken a drink from that fountain on La Ramblas, just as I did. I know that some day I will go back.

Go for it!!!

BCNbound,
Have you ever worked at the Uni of Mexico in San Antonio? You sound a lot like a teacher I knew there. 285 days: (

Sorry if it sounded a bit strange for me to ask, it's just that the teacher I knew has been to BCN several times and she used "bcnbound@....."for her email address. Take care!

...how much can a DELTA qualified teacher make an hour in bcn? I make the equivalent of 25 Euros/hour here in Dubai but I have a feeling it won't be that high in bcn......

(Did a search but couldn't find anything)

Think i know the difference between DELTA & CELTA (though im not sure) - as far as i can see employers here dont make a while lot of difference (though i could be SO wrong) i can only tell you what a TEFL/CELTA teacher makes here & from what i hear it a lot less than Madrid - if you want to know more send me a PM -
