In a recent article from the mail a former Tory minister,George Walden challenges the silence over immigration and emigration, as the last decade shows a growing number of people want to leave the U.K and live in another country, any country .It would appear that the liberal media and politicans have stifled debate on this issue ,so do you think Great Britian has lost its greatness, and is now in the hands of citizens who look on their society with growing feelings of despair ?
Try www.dailymail.co.uk/georgewalden .
Makes you wonder why anyone wants to go back there . |

My reasons for wanting to leave are two-fold. Initially I had plans to go to Japan as an EFL teacher as I had friends that I had done it and had an amazing time.
Then I met the lady of my dreams She was Turkish.
I'd always had a love for Turkey (I've been there a good 15 times in my life) so I decided.... f*** it, screw Japan, I'm off to Istanbul.
Why do I want to leave the UK? Well, frankly I am tired of it here. I'm an athiest, I don't believe in God (though I am wary enough to give him / her a Capital) , I don't believe in re-incarnation and all that. I believe we have ONE life and that is it. I have spent 25 years in England, a third of my life (give or take). Simply, I want to spend the rest of my time somewhere else, learn new cultures, meet new people.
I have nothing against the UK as such, other than it's foreign policy. And I know I will have a hard time makign do without the level of manic free speech we get in the UK, but still....
New things....for good or bad. |

Actually, you have complete free speech, as long as you dont say anything negative about Turkey, or about anyone or anything related to Turkey. |

when the egyptian minister was asked by the western press why there was so much censorship in the country he replied: "we don't have any censorship, if someone says something we don't like we just ask them not to say it again"
anyways, in places like canada and britian you have freedom to talk about anything but nobody does anything and in the rest of the world people do it and don't talk about it... take your pick.
people leave places like britian and canada because they are BORING. After travelling to many countries and having my prejudices changed or erased altogether I finally went to England and it was exactly what i was expecting it to be. |

On the subject of free speech ,some would say it is more restricitive than here ,what with the pc brigade and now people getting angry over the veil issue in the U.K ,well at least they debate there . It seems every time I pick up an English newspaper its all doom and gloom and people are selling up and moving to another part of the world and basically the immigrants are taking over and getting a lot more help from the state than I ever did . S'not fair!!!!! |

Blair and Brown...ok Blair is only half Scottish but he was also educated in Scotland.
I don't really follow British politics very much but how many of the cabinet are Scottish?
Anyway, it was just one of my many flippant remarks.Don't analyse it too much. |

On another related issue ,its now accepted that Britons are among the most watched socities in the world ,apparently something like 20% of the worlds cctv cameras are in the U.K meaning one in every 12 people are being spied on .Every time you buy anything now you are on camera or even use a mobile or use an atm ,most of the cameras are hidden . |

Makes you wonder why anyone inhabited the mossy bog-pit in the first place ... and that was before the 'what-you-looking-at' frog-spawn emerged from the pond ... |

There has just been a report on bbc world. If you live in the UK you are,on average(whatever that means), on CCTV 200 times a day!!!!!!
Don't worry Baba they don't get in the paper or anything. |

I hear they have cameras in all the class rooms and the parents have access to the videos whenever they want. |
