i have been living in poland for the past 5 or so years. i have finished a 3 year foreign language teachers training college and have recieved my BA from the local university of nicolaus copernicus in linguistics and have 2 years teaching experience in private companies and private language schools teaching all ranges of age, proficiency, gender, and race... things didnt work out here with the beauracracy in this country and my reapplication for a work permit got lost or caught up somewhere and i have decided to come home to southern oregon... maybe someone knows of any offers or anyone who would be interested in my services?

I'm in Central Oregon right now. After several years of EFL teaching, this is my first serious look into the ESL scene here. It's pretty much like I had heard. There are plenty of community colleges and universities (I've looked from Eugene north, though... nothing down south), and they all seem to have part-time hours only. It looks like people piece together full-time schedules working at a few different places. I've only seen one place so far that didn't ask for an MA.

There's Southern Oregon University in Ashland, but I haven't really looked into it because it's too far away for me. I think their English program is connected to ELS (affiliated with Berlitz).

Good luck,

Gee, Denise I didn't know you were back in the states!

Dunno what brought that on!

to the OP:

Find a uni with an IEP or an MA TESOL program and sell yourself to the department of international student services.

It's looking like it's going to be a temporary stay... partly because there aren't that many jobs here, and almost none that will allow me to pay off my loans, and partly because... sigh... I left the most wonderful man behind when I left my last job. Crying or Very sad
