|
|
Hi, I've seen an avert for this company (turns out to be an agency) called TeacherMexConnect. They are looking for teachers for Spain, Italy and SA.
I sent my details and they told me I am very qualified etc and stand a good chance of getting a job BUT I need to now send them some money and they will start sending my CV out to potential schools.
My questions are :
Has anyone got any experience/s of them (good or bad)?
Is this standard parctise to charge (I'm currently in China and I didn't pay my recruiter anything)?
I am British with experience and a CELTA and only looking at working in Spain with them.
Thanks in advance |

Well, you might want to check out this post:

It has a medium rating and no one has said anything positive or negative yet, but 6 people did take the time to rate it. I hope it helps you a little bit. |

I think that some people have reported on Dave's that Texmex takes your money and then does not do anything for you. |

This was a previous post about tex mex. Please check it out. I think you would be better just to fly to Spain and look for a job. Pick a city and go there and drop off your resumes in person. Then you can see the school for yourself.

I also sent my resume to them and they said the same thing to me. You should never have to pay for getting a job. |

I did TeacherMexConnect and I wouldn't reccommend it. I was only contacted by 1 or 2 companies, and one of them was for a volunteer position.
I ended up finding my job on my own, so paying an agency really isn't necessary if you have the right qualifications and experience. |

Thanks for all your help and advice. I've decided NOT to use them!

Good, if you have the money you should just go to Spain and find a job. Then you can meet your perspective employer and maybe talk to some people who are working at that school. |
