|
|
Hello all,
I've had an idea for a warmer for one of my classes and would like some help fro you guys if you can.
Does anyone know of any Polish idioms and their direct English translation? I figured I'll see if I can get them to work out what the subject of the lesson is by translating the direct English translation back into Polish and then figuring it out.
If anyone can help out, that'd be great and of course useful contributions will be paid for by beer (as long as you live in Krakow). |

In English too "dear" can mean either something or someone loved by you or something expensive.
"That jacket is a bit too dear, I'll look for a cheaper one"
"Dear John,"
"My girlfriend is very dear to me"
To add:
Puścić pawia = to let out a peacock (to throw up) |
