I think simply said, its all about being "home". And that is different for everyone. I know many immigrants who live in the USA and they would not trade it for the world---and I respect that just as much as I hope people respect that I feel home abroad.
As far as laziness, Gosh, I don't remember that last time I could simply sleep in without care or responsibility. Hmmm, oh yes, the faint distant memories is slowly coming back.....it was over two years ago in a Trinidad in a small country town. Waking up to the wet season rains and the weather still in its 70's or or low eighties. There something magical about warm rain; working at out a local gym that looked like a scene out of 1970 pumpin iron. I sware we was using tractor spoked drums as 50 and 100 pnd plates on the leg machine. No air condition and you get a good sweat real fast! Reggea and Sweet Soca music blasting over the make shift speakers.
Afterwards, take a walk down the street, have a fresh chilled coconut freshly cut for you, maybe stop by the local field and watch the children play football (soccer). Such simple memories....ahhhhhhhh |
