Has anyone here heard of this school? They expressed interest in me.

I would like to know from people that have experience working at ELS in Kuala Lumpur, what I can expect.

Thanks.

Can you tell me what they are offering as far as salary and working hours? PM me. This info could be useful for future newbies.

Hi, I thought i would resurrect this old thread and see if anyone can shed any new light on the original question.

So, has anyone worked for or got any information on the ELS chain (specifically the branches in either KL or Selangor)?

I have been informed that employees are expected to be in work between 8 30 - 4 30 and in this time they will teach five 55-minute classes.

Accommodation is not included in the monthly salary (although it is apparently subsidised), baring that in mind, would the general cost of living be much more if I was located in KL rather than Selangor.

Any up to date information on either ELS or ESLing in Malaysia would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance

Hey Charriere,

I work right near the ELS in Selangor. Subang Jaya and Sunway are in Selangor. I just tell people that I live in KL. Consider the living expeses the same unless you're talking about KLCC or some rich pocket.

Hey Saint - thanks for the quick reply!

Have you come across anyone working for that chain? If so, what kind of picture did they paint of the place?
The recruiter that i'm going through said that it's one of the best privately owned schools in Malaysia. Of course, i'm taking that statement with more than a pinch of salt!

Sly,
I replied to a job posting on a different site and the recruiter got back to me. I don't know which company he works for, but he said that he is based in Japan.
When are you planning on starting?
Have you worked in Malaysia before?
I can pass on the guys details if you wish, but as yet I can't really vouch for him being a 'good recruiter'.

Charriere.

Thanks for the info. i am working in South Korea at the moment. I used this year to build up some cash, then do a year for experience... This is my first teaching experience... I really do not care too much about the salary, as long as it gets me by... Did you have an offer from this school??? If so, is it more than 3000??? I am planning on feburary time being done in Korea. Anyways, that's the detail, I would like to talk with him, if you could pass that along. Thanks...
