A UK bus firm has revealed that new Polish drivers are shown UK TV shows like Only Fools And Horses to help them understand regional accents. FirstGroup, which now has 1,000 Polish drivers working across Britain, is airing the shows at its new training centres in Poland where staff are first recruited. First Group said that the drivers are shown different TV shows depending on where they are to be posted, so a recruit heading for Glasgow will be shown a Billy Connolly DVD, while someone going to Manchester would see Coronation Street. |
Somehow Billy Connolly and English doesn't cognate. |
