11 years in this business, and I don't know what k 12 means! It's used a lot in various posts and I gather it has something to do with teaching kids but it doesn't register with me. I never heard/saw it before using this site. Is it U.S.?
I checked the glossary which didn't help.
a) Can someone explain it to me?
b) Should we work towards building a more complete glossary?
This is my first new post, I feel like I should get a round of applause or something! (But it's more likely to be the "or something"!) |

I like the idea of an amended glossary,
Im pretty new at this game & many things either have no contextual explanations or are just things I cant get, `maybe some are just too simple
Presently there are a few threads spread out on these boards asking about them & a few Other threads explaining Some of em.
Im hoping that just getting a reply is something enough for ya.

k 12 refers to kindergarten to grade 12, so it would refer to school teachers. |

It is US usage, perhaps Canadian too. I came across it in the context of an "International" school in Jeddah which is in effect an American school.
Which reminds me of the joke I heard years ago. If an American trade union has "international" in its name (eg International Garment Workers" Union) it means that it has a member in Canada.
