Pi$$er innit? Had mine knicked this morning on the metro. I'm not too bothered about the phone... One of these classic nokia 3310s almost 5 years old and a brick. But being Scottish it still worked so I kept using it.
Anyhoo bloody numbers. I don't know how many numbers were on it. I do have a saved list of numbers in my gmail account, but I haven't updated it in over a year
So my friends can you pm your numbers to me so I can put them in my new phone(when I buy it)
Cheers
Does anyone else have stolen phone stories?
This is the second time for me. The last time was at a wedding and I left it at a table. When I returned all 57 waiters promised I hadn't left it... gits.
Also had a nice story. One time a phone fell out my pocket in a taxi and the driver returned it. |

Don't Turkcell have a record of your numbers? I've heard tales of others recovering all their numbers through them, I think. |

thanks fgt, I'll investigate that.... now actually. I've been looking around on the Turkcell website. I've contacted them and asked info about getting my phone book info. However in my limited research so far it seems I need a superpassword. I can get that by sending a message to 2222 with the message sifre. How? I don't have a phone?
So maybe it's worth doing before you have your phone stolen.

I think you might have to kiss it goodbye ... according to my 'Boys Book of Crime' the criminal that steals a mobile phone is usually unknown to the victim ...
On a more positive note, I've heard of a taxi driver chase after a Havas bus to return a forgotten laptop ...
But I've also heard of taxi drivers who just chase Havas buses ...

Bad luck DMB, I've had a phone drown cause I forgot to take it out of my trunks pocket before I went swimming. I also had one commit suicide by vibrating itself of my bed-side table. |

Just be grateful that the phone didn't commit suicide vibrating to death whilst it was in your trunks |

Bad luck mate, get your next phone insured, its worth it if you buy a good one. If not just get a cheap one. Telsim is running a good deal at the moment a phone and 1000 units.. |

I hate the feeling of having something stolen. You want to kill the offender, but you generally just end up yelling at your poor innocent hubby.
The hair dresser who was doing my hair on my wedding day stole my phone. I am sure that she will burn in hell for doing that. |

Stolen phone story... hmm I have stories.. I have had my phone stolen while i was staggering and limping(because i had been shot the week before) to the dolmus stand in taxim while i was talking on it, another time before that when i got off the dolmus around the corner from my home in the wee hours of the morning.. but i guess i should not have been drunk and sitting on a curb trying to collect my thoughts.. a group of very helpful turks came along and were helping me to get up and walk..hehe.. actually they were helping themselves to my phone and money out of my fanny pack.. yeah.. i deserved that one.. i had one stolen out of a different fanny pack in a bar.. this time my condoms and phone were stolen..but all my money was left.. go figure.. my phone and my friends' phones were all stolen and some other things like cam corder, laptop, cameras, etc.. when my apartment was robbed.. while we were all there sleeping.. and I think i actually lost one in a park.. but hell at this point and thinking back..anything could have happened to it.. yeah.. i have spent a lot of money on phones here.. |

"Does anyone else have stolen phone stories?"
No, but I have some good stealing phone stories. Like this morning when I knicked one on the metro. The piece of crap is so old, I'll probably give it back tomorrow...for a price. |

don't you dare. Just leave the sim card.
Actually reminds me of a story.
A husband and wife were asleep one night in their apt in Cihangir on the 5th floor. It was summer so the balcony door was open. A theif got into their apt, took the sim cards out both their phones, left them next to the bed and stole both the phones. A considerate thief? |

Yes you are right... that was very considerate.
If anyones phone gets stolen, the first thing you should do is call Turkcell or Telsim or whatever company you have service with. They will put a hold on your kontor. In other words when you get a new sim card with your same number, you will still have some kontor left too.
Every time i called them or went to get a new sim card, they always said, "You again" hehe...
The being shot story is interesting.. I will share it in another time |
