Hi there, I saw this post that was made inviting questions about the NET scheme. I wonder if you wouldn't mind answering a couple for me. I should preface these by saying that I have been on this forum for only a couple of days but I have seen a lot of threads, but have not seen specific answers to these questions. I hope you do not get turned off by questions about money and working hours etc.

I am currently teaching EFL in a high school in Taiwan, and I am thinking about getting a change of scenery and moving over to Hong Kong to work in the NET scheme. I am pretty curious as to how similar it would be to my experiences here. Do you know of anyone who has come to the NET Scheme after working in Taiwan? I know there are many that go to Hong Kong from EPIK and JET but I have not heard of anyone form the Taiwan Govt programs. I am able to save about 2000-2500 Canadian /month after all my expenses here; I believe that I would be at the lower end of the pay scale for the NET scheme because I do not have much teaching experience (while I do have a B.Ed). Do you think it is reasonable for me to expect to save around this much in the NET scheme while also having a social life? Also, I wonder how rigorous the job really is. Teaching here is, well, pretty easy and while I am looking for more challenges professionally, I am interested in studying my Masters while working and would require a job that would allow me at least enough time to take a course or two during a semester. How would you say the work load is in the NET scheme? I know that a lot of the answer depends on which school you are at (here too) but I would be curious to know how you think people do generally. I guess my last question is if you have any insight into 'PNET vs. SNET do you reckon one program is really that much different from the other? I have taught both high school and elementary here in Taiwan and I like both for different reasons. But aside from the kids being entirely different, are the jobs really that different?

Thanks for reading
