A contributor to our blog recently posted some suggestions that both those living here and thinking about coming to costa rica might be interested it. Specifically he talks about Power of Attorney, Healthcare/Insurance, and keeping in contact with people at home via Skype. These were all questions that I personally had before moving to CR, so I feel like it is helpful info for others.

You can go to www.lonelyplanet.com They have a link for low cost health insurance.
As for Skype. We are signing up for it right now. Will post concerning it's function. I know people who use it for computer to computer contact, and their rates seem low for international...plus if you purchase time for international calls from your computer to phone systems in the US, they are offering all calls are free until Dec 31st. But you have to purchase $10 of time.
