I just wanted to wish a happy holiday to those who celebrate. Let's not make this a political thingy!! Anyway, despite the history of the holiday, everyone does have something to be thankful for whether they realize it or not.
Me?
-My family is in good health
-My husband's not in Iraq or Africa
-I have a stable job in a truly interesting country
Besides everyone loves turkey! Anyone going out for some??? |

I'm not American, but I will be enjoying some turkey tonight at our church where we are having a big feast. Sorry I won't go into details as I don't want to gloat. I just have to remember to wear my sweat pants tonight. |

In response to "wolfman":
Canada also celebrates Thanksgiving Day but it is celebrated a month earliar than the States. It has to do with the harvesting season. You're further south so you can let your crops grow an extra month. We only have Neil Young and his October "Harvest Moon".
Enjoy your time of thanks. |

| I am thankful for the things I have every day, not just once a year. |

Indeed. But since Japan has this convenient holiday in November, and since we have so many American friends, we too celebrate our Thanksgiving in November now.
Speaking of which... I am Thanksgiving STUFFED!!! We had 10 people over to our house this evening, and enjoyed a potluck feast, which had all the necessary fixins... Turkey (2 of em actually), stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, candied carrots, cucumber salad, apple pie (made from scratch), some appetizers, lots and lots of wine, and finally finished off with some freshly brewed coffee.
Then, tomorrow we get to do an encore performance with some different friends.
Life is good! |

| My wife and I will be enjoying a cozy Thanksgiving for two. We cheated and bought a half a turkey already cooked. She will be attempting to make an apple pie. The fridge is well stocked with beer and I splurged on a decent bottle of Pino Noir. And being that we're actually in America, I get to watch football all day. |
