1 HK American
5 Chinese American's
1 Malaysian Chinese
2 Uzbekistan

Another point;
Not the first time, and defintely, not the last time, let me make my point here.
Being born in America, England, etc, does not make you the best English Speaking in the person. Teaching is the character, passion, and the most important, respect. |

No argument from me on this. But if one wants to be credible at teaching English, one should also know a lot better than to use phrases like "Being born in America, England, etc, does not make you the best English Speaking in the person." Personal qualities are indeed crucial, but if you don't know your subject they don't mean squat.

Dear Fat Chris,
Out of a teaching number of 65 ForeignTeachers there is
should be "there are" That was my point!
As usual, MT has the line. I am an excellent teacher. I care and I know my language. |

All I was doing, was merely assisting a person who required help to find employment.
I am not interested in ' attacking other writers' for the most trifling of reasons.
It is far better to be positive rather than negative.
The facts are that most Foreign English teachers are employed to teach Oral English and not Reading or Writing.
There is - Singular
There are - Plural. |

Yaco, I don't think there are any intentions to attack anyone here. Other posters were championing non-native-speaking (NNS) teachers as equal or superior...fine in itself but it looks pretty silly if the English used to do so is seriously incorrect.
The truth is that there are many excellent NNS teachers (and horrible NS teachers) out there. When I've had the privilege of being in a position to hire teachers, I didn't look at passports or skin tones....I observed their ability to use English.
