|
|
Hi, folks! I am currently in the process of applying for my visa so I can begin training to teach at ECC in January (and if any of you are in the same boat, hi!) I apologize if this is a really ridiculous question but I'm new at this applying-for-visa stuff ... I received my Certificate of Eligibility from ECC the other day and checked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs's website to see if I need to bring anything else with me to the Japanese Consulate (aside from my passport, that is). A Specialist in Humanities/International Services visa seems to call for a lot of extra documents such as
-Copies of the company registration and a statement of profit and loss of the recipient organization.
-Materials describing the business undertaken by the recipient organization.
-A diploma or a certificate of graduation with a major in a subject relating to the activity of the person concerned, and documents certifying his or her professional career.
-Documents certifying the activity, its duration, the position, and the remuneration of the person concerned.
Item 3 is pretty self-explanatory but the others are a bit confusing to me. What are some examples of things that could work for these? Or am I just being a huge dork and the papers and CoE (plus my passport) are all I need to bring to the Consulate?
Thanks so much in advance for your time and attention!
Best,
V |

If ECC is sponsoring your visa, they should take care of all those confusing items; all you need is the COE, your passport, and possibly some passport photos. When you get to the consulate and show them what you have, they'll give you the proper forms to fill out. If you're worried about anything, call the consulate directly. Someone who speaks English will tell you everything you need to bring or do. |

Thank you, Venti! I appreciate your help. I'll get myself down to the Consulate and see what's up. |
