Hello all,

I'm looking for a place in Istanbul that offers weekend-only language courses as my schedule only permits me to get downtown (I work in a western suburb) on the weekends, any suggestsions? Thanks

Most language schools would employ you part time at weekends. It's usually their busiest times and in need of teachers.

Thanks for your quick response.

Sorry I don't know if I was clear enough. I am teaching English in a Western suburb already. I'd like to take Turkish language courses for myself on the weekends.

As far as I found out most language schools offer weekend courses. Dilmer and Tmer both have 2 month language courses.
Tmer has a sat & sun course, 5 hrs each day. Dilmer also offers a sat&sun course but only 3 hrs a day and they do have morning/afternoon classes.

btw, did you find a language school that offers evening classes? Something like long term but only 1-2 nights a week? I got the idea that most language courses are made for tourists who want to become fluent within 2 months...

English First used to offer Turkish courses, not sure if they still do. They tended to be longer term because they were attended by people living or working in Turkey. The classes were quite mixed, Americans, Russians, Koreans etc..and the teachers were generally pretty good. Worth checking if they're still going on.

An this I believe, myself included, is why in the past people have prefered to work in Dershanes - despite some rather colourful owners.
