The same thought must go through your head just before clicking on this thread as goes through mine just before picking up the Daily Mail. The thought that you're going to hate every second of it.

People keep telling me as I rant and fume about the idiocy contained in it the same thing: "Just don't read it if it annoys you so much!"

Is he really that good? He was captain of a mediocre side that won a mediocre world cup. He was captain of a bunch of cheats(Juve) who were demoted and now he plays in Spain. Is he really better than Gerrard?

Furious,I click onto this thread just to see if there are any changes to the usual dross that gets posted here.In the same way you pick up a Daily Mail for the same reason. Nice to know I'm not the only one who gets disappointed ,but we keep trying ,don't we?
Btw, does anyone think the papal visit coming at this particular time is a good idea ?

I just hope Ratzinger's wearing his flak-jacket.

Doesn't Turkey have a pope of its own?

Glad we don't disappoint Cool

Re: the pope He has the opportunity to say that 9/11 does not = islam. Islam is a peaceful religion.. blah blah blah. Will he?

I'm also a bit disappointed with the bbc's coverage.

Most turks are anti-pope and huge demonstrations in Istanbul Bollocks. 20,000 people were bused into the centre of Caglayan by Saadet partesi. Hardly huge demos.

Most people there probably didn't know what they were protesting about. That old Seige mentality as the Guardian called it.
