When you were studying in the US, how many conversations did you have with the Director or Dean at your university? I can tell that none of them ever spoke to me. And students that fail normally do so for a reason. Maybe you should be looking more closely at your daughter and her work rather than attacking people in management. Or do you expect her to be given a passing grade not on her merit or work, but your pride?

Or are you a troll trying to start a little flame war?

V.S:

On the subject matter, so many students here seem to fail because they have such terrible teachers, bad management and poor college facilities. There must be a PhD thesis there somewhere.

TorL:

You started of as Band 6.75 and finished 4.25. Focus more on on linking and have a friend check your spelling. Remember the ILC is there to help you.

Some poor professors, some iffy management, poor facilities?? ZU?? It has better of all three than the small local College where I got my first degree in the US... It is not as though ZU is training brain surgeons.

I think we're back to unreasonable expectations...

I also think we managed to scare our little troll away though. Laughing

Morning VS,

Some poor professors, some iffy management, poor facilities?? ZU??

Sarcasm, Dear VS, British wit. It got us through the war!

Would Dave's EFL cafe have removed TorL ' Ef Kareem' message?
It seems to have vanished. Being new to forums in general I take it a troll is a person posing as someone/thing he is not with the intent of causing mischief.

Personally, Im buried deep within the system, somewhere out of the way, keeping my head low and paying off the mortgage. We live in interesting times in the UAE

Nope... he edited out his own message.

Your interpretation of 'troll' is good... internet term for people who come on discussion or chat boards just to start fights (flame wars). I think you assumption that this was a student is probably very accurate. Laughing

Staying obscure is a good survival tactic in the Gulf... Good Luck...

yes. we know what troll means. maybe you do not like being under our thumb. Management is here for us, and not you...be very very careful what you are mocking. you mock our pride, you understand nothing at all where you are work, that's ok, we need more of you...you need us...the director we mentioned has no spine, repeat no spine...you know what no spine means?? wahla you do, because you do not have one...best regards as you all say...

He's back...

...and still relatively incoherent. Do stop making a fool of yourself child. Personally I have never said best regards... you-all? such an odd combination of British and American dialect English... do remember that pride can lead to a fall... and management is there for themselves. Most of them care even less for you than they do for us. Welcome to real life...
