Does anyone know any information about this? My husband and I got an email from them and are wondering if anyone has any pros or cons about them...

This may have been written a REALLY long time ago, but I pushed it back up because I recently got a letter from them..so any information on this school would be helpful.

Quibby,
My tip to you is to send in a resume and then for a picture, just use your avatar.

Heart English School's ALT business is quite interesting. If you check their site:

www . heart - school . jp

you'll find on the left menu "ALT業務委託" which is "ALT gyomu itaku", or in English: "Assistant Language Teacher outsourcing". As we know, the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology has notified all Boards of Education that all ALTs must be JETs, directly hired, or received from a legal dispatch company according to rather strict regulations. Outsourcing is prohibited.

At the bottom of Heart's first page, they again say that they do ALT outsourcing, and then give their dispatch licence number. Heart claims to have a dispatch licence, yet outsources (illegally dispatches) ALTs. Violations of dispatch law (like ALT outsourcing), if reported to the Ministry of Health and Labour or your local labour bureau, will get Heart in a little more than a little bit of trouble. Heart also doesn't enroll their teachers in Shakai Hoken (the employee health and pension program) which also is a violation of Dispatch Law.

If you want to know more about how Heart is breaking the law, and how they are ripping their teachers off, do a search here on "Korakuen English Centre". They claim to have started the illegal ALT dispatching business 30 years ago.

If you work for Heart, Korakuen English Centre, Interac, RCS, IEC, or any of the other ALT dispatch companies, you most likely are being ripped off at least 100,000 yen a month as well as cheated on proper health insurance and job security.

Join a union and turn them in. Turn your permatemp job into a real job and get a raise.

There were some other posts sharing a similar sentiment, but they seem to have been pruned by the moderator....
