I am considering going to Costa Rica with alliance Abroad to volunteer with Animal Protection forone month. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this program and if it is trustworthy. Also, after that month, if all is well, I want to find a teaching job until June. I hear the best thing to do is to just show up with your resume and credentials at a school or language institute. I'm a little worried about planning to go there without a job already lined up. Is it true that it would be that easy for me to land a job. I am a certified English teacher with a Master's Degree. Also, I would only want to make a 5 month committment. Would that be a problem? Or do I just quit when I want to go home?
I'm also a 27 year old blonde woman, and I am a little concerned about safety when traveling alone. Where do you recommend I look for a job? I hear that it may be wise to steer clear of San Jose, although that is where I understand most of the jobs are.
Any information that can help me with this decision would be most appreciated.
Thank you!!!! |
