A tip: when looking for help and advice from complete strangers, first help yourself by providing them with more specific information. We don't know what your qualifications and experience are (if any), what your expectations are and - crucially for KSA - whether you are male or female.
Tell us a bit more about yourself and we may be able to tell you a bit more about Saudi Arabia. |

Do a job search and apply, based on this job board, try Al Yamamah for the thrills, and PSU for retards on wheels, PMU for the chaos of a new college, anywhere in Makkah for less pay and more faith, and Jeddah for the decadence. Saudi is your personal sandbox of thrills, chills, and pills! |

Options for women are more limited than they are for men. The fact that you have little experience and don't have a relevant MA will also work against you, as the better places - in theory - demand both. I say 'in theory' because with the supply and demand equation the way it is right now in KSA, many places will quietly waive their requirements for MA qualified, experienced teachers.
One place to start would be with the two women's colleges in Jeddah - Queen Effat and Dar al Hekma. Both have fairly good reputations and hire foreign women teachers (the latter does anyway). Failing that, try the handful of private colleges in Riyadh and elsewhere who hire women teachers. |

As you are the one getting less pay you also have to bring the more faith with you. Many of my Moslem friends who have worked in Makkah, state how surprised they were at the irreligiosity of many of the inhabitants. In some respects Makkah is one of the more open-minded places in Saudi.

The only thing that's decadent about Jeddah is the sewage system. |

Jeddah has a sewage system ...... ????
Meow905, I wish you well finding work here. Just a word of caution - if you get an offer of employment and decide to take it, the people picking you up at the airport often have another/new contract for you. It is generally for a much lower salary and perks than origionally stated. BE CAREFULL!!!
Good luck. |

There is some truth in the above. Historically, the ancestors of people who live in Makkah, expelled the Prophet Mohamed (PBUH) to Maddinah. In addition, some of Makkah people are very tough, especially those who own shops in makkah.
And, this lead us to conclude that, is not necessarily that somebody who is living and working in Makkah his faith will increase!

Common problem everywhere in SA. |

Ok, since you people either don't get sarcasm, or have enough time on your hands to pick apart mildly entertaining lines, to the author at least....let's rewrite it to suit both sides of this faith-based debate.
...Makkah for less money and more or less faith depending on our views, that of your neighbors, the actions of the shopkeepers and the local Imam who either instills you with more interpretation to think about or less than suitable fantaticism.
Is that better? Feel free to alter as you see fit, I know you will, ahem, 007, and any undercover brothers out there. |

The sarcasm is a waste of time when people are looking for useful, true and relavent information. That people in a country have so little empathy or memory of what the situation is for teachers looking for work is really sad, and keeps the usefulness of these boards very low. |

Kingdom of The Desert is a brain-numbingly tedious place to live.
Music and dancing are discouraged. Debates about God, politics, the arts, humour, history, popular culture, cultural diversity are all sterile.
Riyadh is an ugly, gloomy, sprawling mass.
Result : a place that sux BIG TIME.
"Teaching" is "challenging" as all Saudis are given a template about what and what NOT to believe.
Avoid it. |

Your sarcasm has been dually noted, however your ability to read thoroughly before commenting needs work. Furthmore, the purpose of this area of the web site is a forum, and its not to help you and others find jobs. This is an arena for all people who are working in Saudi Arabia as well, and we have many things to talk about, as well as established online connections online. If you truely cared about finding a job you would do a job search, we cant get you one. If you have other questions, you may post, like we all do, and your discussion can go in any discussion. Its of benefit to someone, and would be to you if you actually cared enough to read and learn, rather than just get a quick fix for a job lead.
This original post wasn't your question anyway, so I suggest you over look comments that dont suit your needs, or just stop expecting people to do things for you, and in your way. |
